The casino itself is a bit small but has a wide variety of machines. Not that I mind - I use to smoke and I'm not one of those anti-smoking facility freaks. If your main stay is betting horses then this rating would be lower because of the turf club service.įrom the second the doors opened, you're hit in the face with cigarette smoke. I rated this trip 4 stars as we don't drink, but depending on why you make your trip here, playing in the casino or betting horses, we do both.
They need some work on the Turf Club service as it is way below average. In summary, the stay was nice and the food was good. I recommend ordering the 3 shrimp on the side for $6.00 extra. We ate there last night and we both ordered the filet mignon. I also wanted to mention the Centennial Steak house. The waitress said they were training 2 new cooks so that means they had at least twice the help they would normally have. We are not impatient people, but the place was not that busy the evening before the Derby. We ordered a special on the menu and a burger. This trip, it was after we ordered, we waited almost an hour for our food. Last time we had a problem waiting on service to order. The one sore spot that seems to stick out is up in the turf club. The hotel should give this guy a raise as he goes above and beyond for guests. Check in was fast, the clerk at the desk (Omar) was very helpful.
